Talking Dusty!

Just did my first radio interview for Dusty, on 4BU Bundy with Billy Healy. Bit nervous, but it was a buzz. It was promoting the series that starts on Saturday in APN newspapers. Don't miss it, Dusty Dexter PI, The Paris Case.
Dusty and Janet are in Paris on the last day of a 21-day 12-country tour of Europe when Mary goes missing. What's worse, before she disappears, Mary interrupts Dusty's first real French kiss, with an actual Frenchman. Dusty's keen to find Mary, and get back to the kissing.

Dusty's back, in Paris, and on a case

Dusty’s back, that’s Dusty Dexter, Private Investigator. She’s on another case, and you can read it for free, thanks to APN newspapers.

This time, Dusty’s searching for Mary, owner of Cupcake’s Online Lingerie for Larger Ladies. Mary went missing on the last day of their European bus tour. What’s worse, right before she disappeared, she interrupted Dusty’s first French kiss with an actual Frenchman.

Dusty’s keen to find Mary, and to get back to the kissing.

Before leaving Paris, Dusty does some research, follows some leads. She meets the daughter of another missing woman, and a man with a gun. And she gets another date with Marcel.

Is it a missing person’s case, or a serial killer with a handbag signature?

Chat with the IRS

It's time I bit the bullet, had a chat with the IRS. When I put Dusty Dexter PI's first case up on Amazon and applied for my US tax number, I anticipated it would be done in a relatively timely fashion - and soon I'd be raking in the cash from sales. It didn't happen that way. Suffice to say I didn't get the required documentation to the powers-that-be in the appropriate time frame and they turned me down. At the thought of re-doing all that paperwork I decided to give up on the IRS and Amazon, and the cash, and looked at other options. But following yesterday's seminar, with Simon Groth at the Queensland Writer's Centre, I'm about to approach the paperwork, pick up the phone and play nice with the IRS. Wish me luck.

On loan

The best thing is knowing someone's reading your book. I just searched Dusty Dexter in my local library, and not only found my book there, ready and waiting for readers, turns out one was on loan. that makes me one happy writer.
